Spanish Rice-Oven Method Bulk Recipe
1 (30 oz.) El Cid Spanish Rice Seasoning (1 portion pack)
10 lbs. white or brown rice*
2 cups cooking oil
3 gallons of water
2 (18"x 24") baking pans
Preheat oven to 400°F. To each pan, combine 5 lbs. of rice and 1 cup oil. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown. Combine 15 oz. (½ portion pack) of seasoning and 1½ gallons of water into each pan. Mix well. Cover and bake for additional 40-60 minutes or until rice is tender.
*If cooking brown rice, cook an additional 20-25 minutes. |

Spanish Rice-Kettle Method Bulk Recipe
1 (30 oz.) El Cid Spanish Rice Seasoning (1 portion pack)
10 lbs. white or brown rice*
2 cups cooking oil
6 gallons of water
2 (18"x 24") baking pans
In pot with lid, combine rice and oil. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until rice is lightly browned. Add seasoning and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for approximately 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender.
*If cooking brown rice, cook an additional 20-25 minutes. |
