Seasoned Beans From Dried Beans
7-8 tsp. El Cid Mexican Bean Seasoning (more or less to taste
2 cups any beans: pinto, black, kidney or black-eyed peas
10-12 cups water
Place beans in large bowl with 4 cups of water and let stand 2-4
hours. Drain and rinse beans thoroughly. In large pot with lid, combine
beans, seasoning and 10 cups water. Bring to a boil. Reduce
heat to low, cover and cook 3-5 hours, adding water as needed. Stir
occasionally. Cook until beans are tender and tasty. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
